Enrolment

We take a personal approach with every student and family who joins Mountainview High School. Families are encouraged to come and look at the school, by either making an appointment with the Principal, or attending our Open Day when most Year 8 students and their family take the opportunity to visit lessons and participate in a guided tour of the school.

Year 9

Enrolment forms are requested to be lodged with the school by the end of July when we begin our appointments for enrolment interviews. All students must attend an interview with their family, where students select subject options, discuss Te Ara and the Learning Points system, which is central to our junior school programme. It is an opportunity for students and parents / caregivers to ask any questions and become familiar with the expectations of the school.

At this time, students meet with the P.T.A. to order school uniform in readiness for beginning classes. Mountainview endorses the policy that all  new students must have full school uniform before beginning their tuition.

Years 10 – 13

Enrolment at these levels requires an interview to made with the Principal or member of Senior Administration. During the interview subjects will be selected and expectations explained for joining our school community. A tour of the school can be arranged and a meeting with the P.T.A. to order uniform will be organised.

It is an excellent opportunity to ensure that appropriate levels of learning are discussed for each individual, in partnership with the family.
